Sony Brand Experience Show – Today NYC – Tomorrow London.

For any avid readers of OutofHome.net you’ll remember we discussed the move of big brands to connect more directly with their customers through ‘experiential stores’ – if you’ve not seen it check out ‘Are You Experienced?’

It seems that Sony (US) are similarly convinced by the value of this same approach opening their own ‘brand experience’ store at Sony Square, NYC tomorrow (August-04). Much like Samsung’s event earlier this year, Sony will give consumers the opportunity to try new products, play with potential products and attend events.

As Steven Fuld, senior VP-corporate marketing at Sony Corp. of America, says “With this space, we’re trying to give consumers an emotional connection with the brand,” noting that the store creates a single brand story from many products. The site will be staffed by employees and whilst products can be bought the principal objective is product interaction.

Interestingly London has been cited as another destination for the same ‘brand experiential’ event from Sony.
